When Virki hosted their event at GameStreet 1, the goal wasn’t to pack the evening with activities.
It was to create an environment where colleagues, partners and their +1s could genuinely spend time together.
Here’s how the evening unfolded.
Instead of arriving in a traditional lobby, guests entered directly onto the Gamefloor through their own prepared private entrance.
Just inside, the F1 simulators immediately caught everyone’s attention.
Some couldn’t resist jumping into the driver’s seat.
Others gathered around to watch, cheer and reconnect with colleagues they hadn’t seen in a while.
Without anyone planning it, the usual awkward first ten minutes disappeared. Instead of standing with a drink wondering who to talk to, people instantly had something happening around them.
Make participation easier.
Just around the corner, the rest of the Gamefloor opened up.
At the centre of the room, next to the bar, people were already playing ping pong and beer pong while others grabbed food and drinks.
Some confidently picked up a racket.
Others insisted they were ”just warming up” before the first real match…
Within minutes, employees, partners and guests were mixing naturally around games almost everyone already knew how to play.
Nobody needed an icebreaker.
The activity became the conversation.
Once everyone had arrived, there was no need to tell people what to do next.
Groups naturally split off to explore different parts of the Gamefloor.
Some settled for Mario Kart tournaments. Others challenged each other in arcade games.
The boxing machine quickly became one of the night’s unofficial competitions, with everyone trying to beat the current high score.
Every few minutes someone shouted across the room after setting a new record, only for another guest to immediately step up and try to take it back.
It wasn’t organized. It just happened.
Not everyone wanted to compete all evening.
Throughout the Gamefloor, comfortable lounge areas gave people somewhere to sit down, catch up and have proper conversations.
Unlike many corporate venues, the atmosphere never became so loud that you had to shout to be heard.
People could step away from the games without feeling like they had left the event.
The conversations simply became another part of it.
Virki didn’t need complicated entertainment or a tightly scheduled agenda.
The space itself created moments that brought people together.
Games gave strangers something to do. Friendly competition created conversations.
Comfortable lounges gave those conversations room to continue.
By the end of the evening, colleagues, partners and guests hadn’t just attended another company event.
